MY MOTHER IS SPECIAL TO ME
Anne Stewart Page

She is Dear to Me, this most precious lady
I call Mother, so very dear to me
The closeness and bonding of fond memories
The wisdom, understanding, advise and love she so expresses
This bond that carried me from infanthood to toddler, child
Teen and then on to adulthood
She is my mentor, my friend, my confident.
I wondered in earlier time, how could she understand me?
After all, what did she know? she was just my mother
How could she have possibly identified with me?
In her own way she directed and guided me the only way
Her specialness would show
The smiles, gentleness from this gracious lady
Courteous and yet sometimes bold, give courage to the untold
As I look back through the years, I thought, if I were she
Would I have been able to do things differently? And if I could
What would have become of me?
A finer appreciation of this special Mother have I
Some say, you are like your Mother
What a wonderful compliment! Because this woman
Who bore me in her womb, is my living testimonial
Of who she is, as well as, what will become of me
To honor this woman who deserves to wear
The crown for Queen in her hair
Prepared from blossom rose petals
Entwined with green and silver ivy
This Special Person
